Frequently Asked Questions
Can My Child Take More Than One Course?
Yes! However, some courses run simultaneously, so if your child needs remedial work, it could be difficult for him or her to also take the next level up as well.
Can I Sign Up for a Workshop and Private Tutoring?
Yes, private tutoring is available for everyone on a first come, first serve basis.
Is Online Tutoring as Effective as In-Person?
Overall, yes, I have found students rising 4+ to be able to work with me online as well as in person. In order to make sure your child’s sessions are most effective, be sure to have him or her be in a quiet place where you know the internet is strong. If I find that your son or daughter seems to be struggling with online tutoring, I will definitely reach out and let you know. My strongest desire is for your child to grow stronger in his or her Math skills.
What If We Are On Vacation and Have to Miss a Session?
The beauty of being on-line is that your child can join us from anywhere! However, if he or she does need to miss a session or two, I am happy to provide the packet of information that was covered.
What Do I Need to Provide for My Child?
Students working online will need a device that allows Zoom. Ideally, the device will be a laptop or tablet with a working camera and strong internet connection. All students will need a notebook and pencils. Pre-Algebra and Algebra students will also need a calculator. Access to a printer may be helpful but is not necessary.
If My Child Needs to Drop Out of a Workshop, or if I Don’t Need as Many Tutoring Sessions, Do I Receive a Refund?
No, unless there is extenuating circumstances, refunds will not be given for unused time. However, please reach out to me if something comes up and I will do my best to work with your family.
Do you tutor during the year?
Yes! I mainly tutor during the school year in the afternoons or weekends. There is limited availability as I am also a full time teacher. If you are interested in private tutoring during the school year, please reach out to me! This can be done online or in-person, and generally are scheduled for 1-hour sessions. I meet with some students weekly and others just as needed.
