Private and Small Group Tutoring

When is Private or Small Group Tutoring Necessary?

During the school year, private tutoring is most common because of the wide variety of schedules, classes, and schools students from which students come. During the summer, many do not need private tutoring because they are looking to review or solidify their skills, or they want to get ahead for the upcoming year.

Should I Consider Private or Small Group Tutoring?

  • Yes, if your child is far behind and needs intense one-on-one assistance.

  • Yes, if your child may be skipping a class (often pre-Algebra) and needs to master the skills missed in order to take Algebra.

  • Yes, if you want your child to attend sessions in-person.

  • Yes, if you want sessions that include an assessment and curriculum based on the individual needs of your child.

  • No, if your child did great in Math this past year and you just want a refresher in July before he or she returns to school.

One-On-One Tutoring

There are four summer packages for one-on-one tutoring. These sessions will be custom designed using a student’s standardized test scores, difficulties during the year, and an opening assessment. These sessions can be done in-person or online or as a combination of both. They are open to rising 4th to 10th graders. Sessions cost $60/hour and are charged in the following blocks. Sessions can be scheduled as 1, 1.5, or 2 hours each.

4 Sessions | $240
6 Sessions | $360
8 Sessions | $480

10 Sessions | $600

Sibling Tutoring

“The family that studies Math together…” If you have two siblings, grades rising 4th to rising 9th grade, who need tutoring, you can bring them both together! Children may work online or in-person. Sessions cost $80/hour and are scheduled as shown below. These can be done in 1, 1.5, or 2 hour sessions.

4 Sessions | $320
6 Sessions | $480
8 Sessions | $640

Friend Group Tutoring

Do you have a group of friends who would all like their children tutored together? Up to three families may join together for either in-person or online tutoring or a combination of both. The children who need tutoring must be in the same grade, and, for the sessions to be most effective, be about the same level in Math. Sessions cost $120/hour and are scheduled as shown below. These can be done in 1, 1.5, or 2 hour sessions. Families will be billed individually for their portion of the expenses.

4 Sessions | $480
6 Sessions | $720
8 Sessions | $960
